Northeastern Cabooses, originally designed by the Reading Railroad in the 1920s, the northeastern style caboose is recognized by its conservative center cupola and rugged, all-steel construction. These cabins were commonly found on railroads throughout the Mid-Atlantic region for many decades. Based on original drawings, the Northeastern Caboose offered by Lionel accurately recreates Readings influential NM class of 32-foot cabooses.
