Created from historic 1930's tooling, the Torpedo is a true Lionel, combining the vintage look and feel only Lionel can offer with the cutting edge performance you demand today! We made an amazing discovery in our archives: the 238E tooling. The mold produced such a beautiful casting that we knew we had to bring this 1930's icon back to life. We've mounted the Torpedo on the smooth Pullmor six-wheel worm drive from our classic B6 switcher for incredible performance. We've enhanced her tractive effort. And for authenticity, we've created the Torpedo as she was in real life - a 4-6-2 Pacific - and we've made her Lionel TrainMaster Command Control equipped for dependable conventional and thrilling nothing-like-it Command operations. Then we crafted the all new 746RS streamlined tender and detailed, sound-insulated frame from die-cast metal. And since 746RS contains the Railsounds Torpedo digital sound system, count on unparalleled sound quality, 746RS rides on die-cast six-wheel trucks and features an Electro-coupler for Command freedom. The Lionel 238E also includes 1930's style metal name boards, long-life illumination, smoke, Magne-traction, metal grab rails, authentic Pennsylvania and Lionel Lines decoration in Brunswick green, aluminum and gold, and American built Lionel quality. Own the legend. Own the Lionel 238E.
