MTH Premier 20-20547-1 Grand Trunk Western GP-9 Diesel Engine #4437 with ProtoSound 3.0
|
Electro-Motive Division's GP (for "General Purpose") engines were the brainchild of project engineer Dick Dilworth. In the late 1940s, Dilworth saw that America's 30,000 miles of main line rail had been virtually dieselized, but the 130,000 miles of secondary lines that carried half of the nation's freight traffic were still largely steam powered. He viewed that as a huge marketing opportunity.
Features:
This great GP-9 is in almost brand new condition. It only has 15 scale miles on the odometer. We are grading it as Like New condition. There are no defects, marks or damage at all. We have tested it to make sure that all features work and that it runs properly. Includes the quick start instruction manual, starter tube of smoke fluid, spare traction tires and optional snow plow. Comes packed in the original box with all packing materials.
