In September of 1989, an unanticipated request from Proctor & Gamble
(P&G), one of the biggest and most successful consumer goods companies in
the world, opened a new era of business for K-Line and greatly expanded another
- custom and specialty train sets and licensed products.
P&G approached K-Line with the idea for an innovative, premium incentive
to reward grocery stores who purchased a certain amount of P&G products.
P&G commissioned K-Line to produce a train set decorated with the names and
logos of certain P&G products. In order to produce all the K-2090 sets, the
K-line facility at Chapel Hill operated 3-shifts per day, six days a week and
rented even more production space in nearby warehouses.
When the enormous project was finished, K-Line had produced a collectible
train set that demonstrated the company's ability to combine the shapes of
O-gauge cars with the designs, colors and logos of a company's products.
This set is a ready-to run O-Gauge trains set complete with track and
transformer. It has been lightly run and is in like new condition. The set box
lid shows some moisture damage around 2-sides, but it is still very solid.
Set Includes:
- Procter & Gamble dual motor S-2 diesel engine
- Folgers Coffee hopper
- Jiff Peanut Butter hopper
- Duncan Hines Cake Mix boxcar
- Sunny Delight tank car
- Puritan Oil flatcar with die-cast Puritan Oil trailer (tractor is missing)
- Crisco Shortening illuminated caboose
- K-Line transformer (not shown)
- O-27 track: 8-straight, 8-curved (not shown)
- Track lockon and hook-up wires (not shown)

This set is sure to become a huge collectible for several reasons: its
limited production and use as an incentive promotional item and K-line is now
out of business. Don't miss out on owning this piece of model railroading
history!
