Lionel 6-38026 Norfolk & Western J Class 4-8-4 Steam Engine & Tender with TMCC & Odyssey
|
The Lionel N&W J Class locomotive not only
pays tribute to the N&W J's status as a railroading legend, but lives up to
its roots as a historic Lionel icon. After all, Lionel introduced the N&W J
to the model railroading world back in their 1957 catalog. This Lionel Norfolk
& Western J class locomotive is the most spectacular version of this classic
yet produced in O Gauge.
Lionel studied historical photos, drawings and even paid a visit to the only
surviving J, #611, down in Roanoke, VA. This model, number 606, is scale-sized
with an exceptional level of detail. They modeled the 606 as she appeared after
WWII, streamlined with a smooth non-vented front shroud, spoked pilot wheels and
a bell atop the boiler. The tender is as accurate as the locomotive with
detailed Commonwealth trucks and a graceful arched deck. This model includes
separately applied builder's plates, locomotive classification plates on the
steam chests and a tender classification plate on the rear of the tender. The
shop serial number is taken from a Roanoke Shops roster and the tender number is
as accurate as the N&W tender assignment sheet where it was found.
Features:
This beautiful classic is in like new condition. There is no damage, scratches or defects. Looks brand new! Looks to have very low run time on it as there are very light rail marks on the wheels and pick-up rollers. We have tested it to make sure that all features work and that it runs and operates properly. Includes the box, wrench to remove the side rods, spare traction tires and Styrofoam packing. The instruction book is missing and unfortunately is not available to print from the Lionel website. However, we have included a copy of instructions for a similar engine that operates the same as this one.
