Lionel 6-8003, 6-9581 through 6-9585 Chessie Steam Special Passenger Train Set

Recently, the sights and sounds of steam were brought back to the areas of the East that had all but forgotten what it was like. From Harpers Ferry to Grand Rapids to Balcony Falls, the Chessie Steam Special was operating in continuous celebration of the one hundred fiftieth birthday of American Railroading.

This O-gauge set features a massive 2-8-4 die-cast Berkshire steam locomotive and tender with all the top features.

• Die-cast body with white side walls on the drivers

Five  beautifully decorated Chessie Steam Special passenger cars combined with the locomotive make a terrific passenger train over seven feet long. Note: the actual train had twenty-three cars and was about 3/8 miles long!

The cars feature:

• Interior illumination
• Die-cast six wheel passenger trucks
• Operating knuckle couplers at both ends
• Vermillion, grey and yellow bodies with blue Chessie markings

This set is in like new condition. The locomotive appears to have hardly been operated on the track. Includes the original boxes, paperwork and instructions.
