Lionel #1599 Texas Special Freight Set Ready-To-Run- Postwar

This is a very nice complete postwar set from 1958. The 210 Texas Special Alco AA engines were only included in one postwar cataloged set. This makes this set fairly rare, and especially hard to find it complete and original. This set is all original and came together as a set. It has not been pieced together. The set includes:

• 6424 Flatcar with 2-autos
• 6112 Gondola with 3-canisters
• 5465 Gulf 2-dome tank car
• 6017 SP type Caboose
• 6029 Uncoupling track section
• 3-straight track sections
• 8-curved track sections
• 1015 45-watt transformer
• CTC track lockon
• 3-original instruction sheets: Instructions for Operating Your Lionel Train Outfit, Instructions for Operating Lionel Alco Diesel Locomotive, and How To Operate Lionel Remote Control Track Sets.

This set also includes all of the original boxes including the set box.

Condition:

This set is in overall excellent condition. All items are very clean. There is no rust, cracks or breaks except as noted. The engine runs and operates great. The front pilot on the non-powered engine has been cracked and has been repaired very well. The repair is not very noticeable. One end of the rear bumper on the green auto is broken off. These are the only issues.

The boxes range from excellent condition to fair condition with some missing flaps. The set box has some wear and one top flap is starting to separate.
